Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland
Teesside Motorsports at South Bank Road in Middlesbrough claims the world's longest kart circuit, and it has grown into a multipurpose venue rather than just a kart track. Mondays and Tuesdays are given over to car and bike testing and track days, with karting running Wednesday to Sunday.
Durham, County Durham
TopGear Karting is a small indoor kart track on Renny's Lane Industrial Estate at Gilesgate Moor, on the eastern side of Durham. The circuit is about 200 metres long, with laps of around 20 seconds and up to eight karts on track at once.
Cost per minute is calculated the same way everywhere: session price divided by minutes on track. Where a track sells sessions in bundles we show its best rate, since booking more up front is usually cheaper. Compulsory extras are listed on each track's own page.
The youngest age accepted anywhere in North East is 4 , at TeamSport Go Karting Newcastle. Height matters as much as age — most circuits also set a minimum of 130cm or 140cm, and a child who meets the age but not the height will be turned away at the gate. Each listing shows both.
