Drivers need to be at least 14 years old, with a recommended minimum height of around 150cm, to take part in the R MAX and main arrive-and-drive sessions. These are the lowest figures published by the circuit, and no separate junior kart programme details are given on the site.

The circuit doesn't publish a specific wet-weather cancellation policy, so sessions generally still go ahead outdoors in the rain. It's worth packing weatherproof layers and getting in touch with the venue directly if you're unsure about conditions on the day.

Flat, closed-toe shoes are required, and long sleeves and trousers are recommended to wear underneath the racing suit provided. Long hair must be tied back and tucked into the overalls before you go out on track.

A standard arrive-and-drive booking includes two 15-minute track sessions, while the R MAX Ignition experience runs in 10-minute blocks. You're asked to turn up 30 minutes ahead of your session time for check-in, kitting up and the safety briefing.

Group Races, run in Grand Prix or Iron Man format, require a minimum of eight drivers and come with exclusive use of the track. Standard arrive-and-drive sessions have no such minimum and can be booked by a single driver.

Yes, there's an on-site viewing gantry plus indoor and outdoor viewing areas for anyone who isn't driving. The Kart Republic café is also on-site, giving spectators somewhere comfortable to sit, particularly on colder or wetter days.

For arrive-and-drive customers, Larkhall Circuit supplies a race suit, balaclava, helmet and gloves along with the kart itself. Competitors in the R MAX Elite Racer series are the exception, as they must bring their own personal safety gear that meets Motorsport UK standards.

Standard rental sessions use 390cc Centurion karts, referred to elsewhere on the site as 4-stroke Honda 390cc karts. Drivers who set a fast enough qualifying lap can progress to the Rotax-powered R MAX karts for a higher-performance rental experience.
