About Full Throttle Raceway

Full Throttle Raceway is an indoor karting venue on The Stourbridge Estate off Mill Race Lane in Stourbridge, a short drive from Dudley, Halesowen and Birmingham. Two separate tracks share the building, giving over 400 metres of circuit under one roof.

The main GP Raceway is a 300-metre layout with a flyover bridge, run with 200cc Biz karts. It takes drivers aged 9 and over who are at least 135cm tall, with family sessions from 9 and sessions for individual drivers and groups from 14. Arrive-and-drive sessions, Grand Prix and Enduro formats, member race events, corporate days and stag or hen groups all run here.

Younger children have their own Cadet Raceway, where electric Cub karts take ages 4 to 8 and Cadet karts take children from school year 3 who are at least 120cm tall. The kids' track can also be booked exclusively for F1-themed birthday parties.

Top speed of 40mph is the operator's published figure, not an independent measurement.

How old do you have to be to go karting here?

Children from age 4 can drive electric Cub karts on the separate Cadet Raceway, which caters for ages 4 to 10. The main 300-metre track is for over-9s, with family sessions from 9 and sessions for individual drivers and group events from 14.

Is there a height restriction?

Yes. Cadet karts on the kids' track need a height of at least 120cm, and every driver on the main raceway must be at least 135cm tall. No minimum height is published for the electric Cub karts used by the youngest drivers.

Is there a weight limit?

The published maximum weight for drivers is 22 stone.

What happens if it's raining on the day of my session?

Both tracks are indoors, so the weather does not affect whether sessions go ahead.

What should I wear?

Trainers or similar closed shoes are recommended; sandals and flip-flops are not allowed. A balaclava is strongly recommended and can be bought at the venue, and if you bring your own helmet it must be full-face.

How long is a race?

A single race on the Cadet Raceway lasts about 10 minutes, and a double race about 20 minutes. Exclusive kids' parties on the Cadet Raceway come in 30, 60 and 90-minute blocks of track time.

Can we eat on site?

There are pizza ovens and vending machines on site, plus picnic tables overlooking the main raceway. Home-prepared food and drink is allowed, but outside fast food is not.

Is there a membership scheme?

Yes. Membership costs £20 a year and gives 20% off individual sessions; members can also enter the venue's regular open race events.
